Home is you

Aya, a 32-year-old musician with no boundaries or doubts about her identity as a lesbian, meets Yaelle, a 29-year-old multimedia artist and new immigrant to Israel from a conservative French family. They create performances together. Their encounter develops into a story of true love, and Yaelle makes the difficult decision to reveal her homosexuality to her parents.
Hope turns to despair as Yaelle is forced to sever her relationship with her family who refuse
to accept her. The young couple flies to Toronto to get married, but Yaelle then suffers an acute post-nuptial depression. She emerges from this depression to face her identity regarding herself, her culture, and her family.
Home is You is a brave and intimate documentary portrait. Vibrant, full of humor, real, and touching, Home is You confronts a humanistic struggle for love, marriage, and acceptance for all.

Auschwitz liberation day

 The International Holocaust Remembrance Day

This January 27th marks the 68th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz – the only Nazi death camp in which prisoners were tattooed with numbers. The International Holocaust Remembrance Day honors the 6 million Jews, 2 million Gypsies, 15,000 homosexuals and millions of others annihilated in genocide by the Nazis in WWII.But this day is also a chance to think about the living. It’s been almost 70 years since the last tattoo replaced someone’s name in Auschwitz.
In the time since WWII, survivors have spread all over the world, their tattoos visible even when simply enjoying some ice cream in the park.
NUMBERED is a tribute to these survivors and the legacy of the number on their arms.Pls take a minute to explore the resilience of the human spirit & the evolution this Holocaust “trademark” – the numbered tattoo – through the years. It sure has changed…This January 27th NUMBERED will screen at:
Los Angeles, USA – The Museum of Tolerance - http://www.museumoftolerance.com/site/apps/nlnet/content2.aspx?c=tmL6KfNVLtH&b=6771093&ct=12733993

“Newest Miss Representation ” – Dana ve Anat Event at Shpagat

Tonight at Shpagat screening of “Newest Miss Representation ”

Miss Representation explores women’s under-representation in positions of power and influence and challenges the limited and often disparaging portrayals of women in media. Writer/Director Jennifer Siebel Newsom brings together some of America’s most influential thought leaders in politics, news, entertainment, and academia, including Condoleezza Rice, Katie Couric, Geena Davis, Lisa Ling, Marissa Mayer, Cory Booker, Jean Kilbourne, and Jackson Katz, to give us an inside look at the media’s messaging. As one of the most persuasive and pervasive forces of communication in our culture, mainstream media is educating yet another generation that a woman’s primary value lies in her youth, beauty and sexuality—not in her capacity as a leader. Miss Representation premieres Saturday January 22 in the documentary competition at Sundance Film Festival and then travels to the Athena Film Festival in New York City February 12.

‏”Happiness is something that lives and feels and not that reason and defines”
‏miguel de Unamuno

Remember “Depression of happiness”, by Livia Abraham and Yaelle David, made 12 years ago..It was just a begining
‏This experimental movie, was a critiscm of the superficial society we are living in.
2001 was a pretty good year for the advertisement industry.
The appearance, staying young and slim was really important.
‏The movie shows the absurdity of the world of advertisement that makes you think that happiness is in being “miss perfect with the perfect smile”.
‏The main character is obsessed with perfection. He cleans and repairs advertising in the street that have been damaged or are dirty.
He wants to make sure images of icons stays perfect until he opens the public bin…
