Purim is a very special Jewish event. Very complex story… Very grey story. It’s not a black and white holidays, it’s a very colorful holiday with a lots of mix feelings and on a very blurry line.
It’s between deliverance and destruction as if it goes together and you can not be free without destroying something.
It’s on the sign of lottery. It reminds you that lives and death are very close to each other and the sort can go this direction or the opposite one in a very short time.
Purim comes from the word pur (meaning Lottery, destiny) .
Purim is a Jewish holiday that commemorates the deliverance of the Jewish people in the ancient Persian Empire from destruction in the wake of a plot by Haman.
The day of deliverance became a day of feasting and rejoicing.
Purim is celebrated by giving mutual gifts of food and drink, giving charity to the poor, a celebratory meal, and public recitation of the Scroll of Esther. It include drinking wine, wearing of masks and costumes, and public celebration.
